10 Reasons to Make Your Home Quieter

If you constantly have to be careful about the amount of noise that you make in your home, so as not to upset the neighbors, or so that your noise doesn’t intrude into other rooms or areas of the house, then perhaps you need to think about soundproofing.

1. Many new homes have very thin walls compared to older houses, so if you’ve moved from an old house to a much newer one, then you might find that you’re making more noise than normal.

2. If you enjoy playing your games console, then you’ll probably know that it’s much more fun, and more realistic when you can actually turn the volume up and feel part of the game more.

3. You might want to play your music loud, and give your hi-fi and CD collection a workout once in a while.  You’ll certainly notice the difference if you’re usually confined to listening to your music on your MP3 player on the train.

4. Perhaps you often have friends round, and want to be able to stay up late talking without disturbing the neighbours or the children.  With a bit of soundproofing, you’ll be able to carry on talking, with a bit of background music until the early hours no problem!

5. You might want to take advantage of your huge TV, and DVD collection, and create a home cinema environment.  Why not watch your favorite films and the latest Hollywood blockbusters in true hi-fi and cinematic sound quality.  You’ll certainly enjoy them more!

6. If you play a musical instrument, want to learn to play one, or your children plays, then the chances are that not everyone in the house appreciates it.  Why not confine the music playing to a special dedicating room, free from interruptions, and that won’t disturb the rest of the household either?

7. Perhaps you have noisy neighbours, and feel that you can’t make any noise in case your noise affects them.  It might be that they don’t realize that they are so noisy, or that they are just anti-social.  By making your home more sound efficient, you won’t be affected by the day to day activities of your neighbours.

8. Perhaps you have a stone floor, and noisy washing machine, or dishwasher, and want to make these appliances quieter.  By fitting an acoustic floor, you’ll dramatically reduce the amount of sound that is emitted by these appliances.

9. Perhaps you don’t want your neighbours knowing all about you, or want some privacy away from your children, or flatmates.  By fitting soundproofing, you’ll be able to play your music louder, or watch TV for longer without having to resort to headphones.

10. Fitting soundproofing such as acoustic flooring, or sound insulation, can mean that you don’t have to stop doing the things you enjoy doing, or have to move house.
